Orange, cherry, caramel, citrus, cinnamon, malt and a little hazelnut. Not quite as aromatic as earlier batches that I've tried, it has some trouble loosening up.
Orange, prune, pepper, caramel and cinnamon.
Orange, roasted chestnut, chocolate, cherry and caramel.
The theory is that the 2015 releases of the Revival are around 19 years old. But when I compared this one directly with versions from 2012, 2013 and 2014, I actually found this one the least impressive one, thinner in the mouth with a less dark profile. So even if the story about the age is true, there may be other factors making a difference: More refill rather than first fill? More Oloroso, less PX? It's still nice but it's not worth double the price of earlier batches, not at all.

This is a big and busy dram. It’s well aged and has deep layers of complex flavours. There is a distinct sulfur tone though out the whisky but not overpowering anything, instead it add’s to the complexity of the experience. I’m happy that I have another closed bottle in stock as you need to have this in your glass once in a while just to remind you how good old fashioned whisky actually tastes.
