I have a really hard time with Säntis because of the beer barrels, thank God it's still going on here, which was also to be expected with a 5-year Merlot "Finish". Anyone who is wondering where the typical Säntis notes come from should drink the Appenzeller draft beer. I had to pour it away .....
    • Nose
Thank goodness there was no gush of herbs, as has so often been the case with Säntis through the beer barrel, as soon as I have written it they do get through a bit, but they were still acceptable, were only 2 years, there is a sweet, slightly sour note , has something vinous, last I had this note on a bunna with 3 years of champagne finish, slightly artificial, a bit like wine sauce, over time it changes in the glass, sweet, now red berries without frills, it gets better, caramel, light mint, a hint of Almdudler remains and therefore always a hint of sauna infusion, hesitated shortly before drinking and now still found chocolate, after the first sip it is completely gone from the first impression, caramel, very creamy, berry shower ... and then herbs again and massive, an emotional pool :-)
    • Taste
good mouthfeel, the 48% fit well, yes here also a herbal undertone, but subtle, red fruit lies above it, here chocolate directly, a few nuts, if it weren't for the undertone, I would almost put it in Scotland, effervescent, sweet
    • Finish
briefly I thought that he would be gone faster than I can write the notes, but he has a comeback, creamy, now a little apple, a little bit of hot apple juice, or cider, the herbs are still there, the beer keg already has what penetrantes in itself
