Whisky Reviews for Speyside Region 1994 Mamo

4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.98 points

Nose: sherry notes, some oak fruits, a slight sweetness

Taste: Unfortunately, from 1 sip a little flat in taste. Taste fairly shallow and uniform. In the background some sweets and oak.

Score: 87 | 100 Finish medium long with a light oak aroma. Whisky rather basic taste. In my opinion, a good price-quality ratio.

Pleasant balances. I'm guess it's a Glenfarclas. Because the price too.
    • Nose
Restrained sherry. Fresh mint, oak and spices. Fruits: apple and orange.
    • Taste
Powerful and rich. Plenty of fruits, piquant spices, stronger sherry than the nose. Fino?
    • Finish
Long, the oak grown nicely. Mint. It's an interesting pair, but I like it.

From the taste I would have expected a much darker malt, which could also have had 5 more years. Too bad that you do not know who is behind it; This malt would be a good figurehead.
    • Nose
First, spicy oak, liquorice and a fresh mint, which tingles with the alcohol in the nose. After a short time in the glass becoming increasingly fruity; dark sherry-typical fruits with light leather. Getting better with every minute in the glass. The alcohol recedes far and leaves more and more room for more aromas.
    • Taste
Compared to what he initially offered the nose surprisingly fat sherry notes in the start. After seconds in the mouth it becomes round with a lot of spice and a pleasant acidity.
    • Finish
Sweet, heavy, dark with spicy oak, but even more persistent sherry aftertaste; also a mild mint in the throat. The finish is almost the best on the malt. For a long time and so consistently delicious and beautiful that you almost do not have to sip again.
