taste and a dry and spicy finish. The power of association (with India)?
Drinkable at this high cask strength, adding water improves it
    • Nose
overripe pineapple, papaya, roasted coffee, a bit spicy and bread dough.
    • Taste
'hot' (alcohol, chili pepppers), pineapple sweets, vanilla, kiwi fruit
    • Finish
finish with dried spices (cloves, turmeric, nutmeg), sweet vanille, some
cardboard en a hint of smoke

  2. Ivynor scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

The difference with the 46% version is very surprising. Is dilution done with poor spring water? Are the barrels the same? Is there the same aging?
In any case, much more convincing.

    • Nose
Nose very fruity, pleasant, greedy. Wow, what a difference with the 46% version! Honey, lots of caramel cream, vanilla, pastry, a little sherry. No bitterness.
Empty glass a lot more on cereals
    • Taste
slightly creamy texture, caramel, vanilla, spices, dark chocolate. Alcohol very well integrated (the version was slightly diluted from 70% to 61.8%)
Alas a little bitterness, but not too disturbing.
    • Finish
Medium, vanilla, caramel, some dark chocolate.
      Bitterness tip.

I can't say that I was fond of every Amrut I've tried so far, but this is definitely a nice one. Quite youthful still, but very tasty. I'll be looking out for a large bottle of this batch.
    • Nose
Toffee, apricot, papaya, cayenne pepper, malt, blossom and pecan nut.
    • Taste
Peach, caramel, pepper, peanut and milk chocolate. With water some malt comes up.
    • Finish
      Toffee, pepper, apricot and curry.
