In the mouth; Oily and mouth coating, I wouldn't even give this 50% for an ABV. Very salt n' peppery here! Peat, ash, charcoal, brine, salt, pepper and bouillon/beef stock. Further on citrus zest, orange, dried apricot and raisin. Less emphasis on the fruit but more on the sweetness with toffee fudge, burnt sugar, dark chocolate and sultana. Vanilla, honey, licorice, paprika and salted peanut too. The finish is a long delight. Dark chocolate, pepper, salty licorice and Sauternes wine. A little drying but with sufficient sweetness.
I understand why these 2004 sherried Ledaigs are so popular. Such a bang for your buck back in the days, sadly I missed out on them. Very good!
