A very interesting and idiosyncratic drop with a fiery chillinote. The tart wood notes harmonize well with the sharpness, a whisky with a lot of power and power.

Edit: I had this malt some time ago in the glass and surprisingly my notes cover the blind tasting with my first notes. In the blind tasting, the piglet gets one point less, so 89.
    • Nose
Blind tasting: Slightly sourish fruity notes become sprightly fast, creating a subtle touch of glue. Sweetness and a touch of vanilla are added, a flavor that is hard to define for me now dominates the nose. The alcohol becomes increasingly intense and a wonderful fruitiness arises.
    • Taste
Fruit and spicy wood immediately dominates the taste. Amazingly, it bizzles and tingles when drinking in the nose. Slight sharpness arises, but is tamed by fine fruit. At the second sip, the blank sample is again intense and voluminous. Spicy wood is displaced by pepper and a pinch of salt. The alcohol is now very dominant, seasoning and sharpness play together. Chilli pepper fires on the palate.
    • Finish
The departure begins dull and harsh. The spicy, tart wood leaves traces on the tongue and on the palate. Short flashes again fruit through the spicy wood tones, then again tart and matte oak tones.

Wow, an absolute cracker! The nose is gorgeous and the taste is an extreme sherry exploded. Somehow this Glenfarclas is different. A really "rough" sherry monster. He does not unfold the fine sherry flavors like the other bottlings of Glenfarclas, but is powerful and fierce.
    • Nose
Shining and strong amber shimmers in the Nosingglas. A strong scent of dark fruits and sweet chocolate rises from the glass. A beguiling, indefinable spicy sweetness dominates. The more than 60% alcohol is very harmoniously integrated. In the finish, a subtle adhesive note unfolds.
    • Taste
The first sip without water explodes violent, spicy sherry in my mouth. Strong woody aromas and alcohol are powerful on my palate. The addition of some water weakens the explosion of heavy sherry. Nevertheless, these fierce, yet fruity and sweet sherry aromas of the nose come through again. The fierce sherry gradually turns into a spicy and peppery aroma. Despite the addition of some water, the alcohol is still very violent and dominant.
    • Finish
The extremely spicy finish unfolds slowly and is getting stronger. This warming finish stays in my mouth for a long time. After the woody and spicy sherry fades, a slight nutty and peppery note is left behind.

    blind tasting Tip:> 55%, 18 years, Highlands, 89 points
    • Nose
sweet and very nutty, especially hazelnut, applesauce, sherry
    • Taste
Hui, strong! there is almost a breath away, me a little too strong ... first admit water: the nuts remain dominant in the nose. Now very oily in the mouth, some wood comes through, cocoa bitterness, quite sweet. Again a class part picked out
    • Finish
      Finish: long, dry, subtle bitterness

    blind tasting
Great malt. Very good in the nose and even better in the mouth.
    • Nose
full and strong nose, sweet, sherry, orange, spicy oak, nut and chocolate. The alcohol is noticeable.
    • Taste
powerful sweet and peppery onset, creamy, sherry, fruity, dark fruit, coffee and chocolate.
    • Finish
medium to long, sweet, creamy, oak.

    BLIND TASTING
    Tip:

no idea what that can be, definitely Sherry cask, 50-55% and delicious
    • Nose
Maple syrup, chocolate sauce with alcohol, plenty of sherry and marzipan potatoes, then a bit of "coastal" (rusty flavor), rust, honey with water, flowers and sweeter
    • Taste
sticky, dry, again a lot of marzipan, strong but with well integrated alcohol, fruit tea
    • Finish
creamy and very dry fading, with sherry, nougat, medium-long, but remains discreetly long on the cheeks

    • Finish
      Cherry, toffee and raisin.

This is how a whisky from the sherry barrel must smell: intense and dirty, not like a rippled finish, but not like a sherry, but like what it is: a sherry whisky! He is also intense in the mouth, but here I wish me a few more years of maturity. The finish is classic, intense, but somewhat one-dimensional compared to the rest. Overall, he likes me really well, a young Wilder, who could have been a big one with a few years more in the barrel.
    • Nose
A glimpse of biting alcohol, which disappears immediately after the first breath. Then it gets intense: sherry, leather, cherries, dirty, wet wood
    • Taste
As expected, stronger, hot start, a little oak, more cherries, sherry, then suddenly sweeter, some vanilla, cane sugar, a little burned
    • Finish
Bittersweet oak, espresso unsweetened, dry sherry, long
