Absolutely fantastic neat, I cannot believe it. I did not try is with water it was that good.

This was a sample but I think I am going to buy a bottle, what a surprise.

I was expecting this to be boring, how wrong I was.

    Excellent stuff.
    • Nose
Nice nose on caramel, coffee and wafer. There is also blackcurrant and a touch of cinnamon.
    • Taste
Bubblegum sweetness, caramel. , strawberry, rich syrup
    • Finish
      Long, smooth and sweet

Fruit, sweetness, mildew and toffee, everything is there. Yummy, I like it very much!
    • Nose
Light fruit with subtle moder. The alcohol bizzles in the nose, suddenly overripe fruit are perceptible. Light muff and moder harmonizes with the overripe fruits. Some citrus, a little pear, somehow there is something of everything. Sweetness dominates the nose.
    • Taste
Fruity sweetness and tart toffee play together. Caramel is added. Tart fruit turns into sweet fruit. Actually, the grain does not need water, but there are a few drops of water. Now sweetness, muff and moder are perceptible. Sweet and tart toffee harmonize very well. Delicious.
    • Finish
Voluminous yet somehow restrained, the finish begins. Again tart toffee and sweet fruit. For a long time, the finish ends subtly.

It is pleasant enough but would you know it was a grain? Other sherry matured grains have sometimes worked for me, but this is just very undemanding.
    • Nose
bit of fudge, some tart sherry
    • Taste
quite watery to start, some tang and a sense of fruit
    • Finish
medium; it is a rich fruit cake taste that lingers or at least the fruity spirit

  6. Kaltduscher scored this whisky 55 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
At first very reserved. Something musty and earthy. Slightly alcoholic. Associations with frankincense. Over time, the nose becomes sweeter with fruity notes. Apples. Pickled cherries. With some water, only the alcohol is felt.
    • Taste
Sweet. Plum jam. Vanilla. Caramel. Very alcoholic. Some oak. Even sweeter with water, but also more alcoholic.
    • Finish
Medium. Sweet. Again a dominant alcohol note.

  9. Mephisto scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

This single grain whisky shows an amazing strong and sweet sherry taste. Despite the high alcohol content of 53.7 Vol. % it is very smooth and can be drunken undiluted. This is definitively a unique taste adventure which invites to drink another glass and could end up in morning headache the next day ...

  10. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

Delicious grain. The sherry keg thing is very unusual. Unfortunately, the Grain is actually too young, but with the sherry barrel is something nice out of it. Especially the nose is nice.
    • Nose
Grainsweet, coconut, but then very quickly fruity notes, such as raspberries, some oak, a little straw. It's interesting how the sherry barrel pushes the typical grainy notes into the background.
    • Taste
Soft fruits, some vanilla, a little sweetness and a bit alcoholic. Does it seem like more than a good fruit brandy here, because it's a whiskey.
    • Finish
Fruity, slightly alcoholic, sweet and minimal oak.
