An old, rich in tradition, but not so robust blend. Do not go in the direction of Haig, nor is it à la Vat69. No, he is milder, lighter, but strong in character. He should be enjoyed pure.
    • Nose
Soft grain mixes with fine sherry tones, some foliage & mild spices. In the background a touch of mild Islay whiskey. Adding water, malt becomes clear. The grainy notes fade away, adding dusty (old?) Cocoa flour and a few drops of diluted lemon juice.
    • Taste
Open & clear. A slight hardness in the taste. Add chili and a touch of creamy fruit. An idea of a hunch (less goes barely ...) of smoke, some sherry and always chili. Water conjures a slight astringency & a slight tingle on the tongue; along with very light peat smoke and a felt highland-like seasoning.
    • Finish
Some malt & grain in the finish. A medium-strong chili sharpness duels with grainiger mildness. Under the influence of water, chili turns white, dry pepper and piquant-sweet notes into the palate.

It is not a lump, the most pronounced component is bitterness, citrus and grass, still quite rescuing the situation. I compared straight to The Famous Grouse blended whiskey and it was a duel of two bad, bitter blends, and I did not taste for one. Fortunately, I had only miniatures from Dios, having a whole bottle, I would be very disappointed.
Everyone has something quite good in them, but both suffer from thinness and, above all, annoying bitterness. I can not recommend either. Even in their blends category, they are downsides.
    • Nose
Enough thin, faint scent, it has a very rare impression. Lightly citrus and grassy, perhaps nutty. Unfortunately unimportant. (65 b)
    • Taste
The flavor is more pronounced than the fragrance, with citrus, wood, unfortunately in a bitter taste. (69 b)
