Bottler: Malts of Scotland (Warehouse Range)
Expansion: Sherry Hogshead No. 15040
Region: Speyside, Scotland
Nose: raisins, really fatty and sweet raisins. Behind it a mixture of dried red berries, some maple syrup and sugar molasses. This is followed by cotton candy, slightly aromatic woods and removes a mild leathery aroma. In addition, the single malt is slightly dry.
Palate: Lush, confirms the nose. First very sweet and fruity, many sherry aromas, raisins and sultanas, wood and leather. Dark chocolate behind, cocoa powder, cappuccino and red fruits peppered with fresh mint leaves and cloves.
Finish: Very long, lots of chocolate with dried fruit pieces. Also some oak, spices and pipe tobacco.
Conclusion: fat Sherrymalt - highly recommended!
91/100 points (tasted 2015, only available in the warehouse shop)
