This is a very rich, round and very well balanced dram. The flavors are very harmonious on the nose as well as on the palate. In shot this is a very elegant whisky that offers a very nice complexity and layering of flavours. It’s not a huge sherry monster but a beast of a whisky anyways.

    TASTING NOTE by G&M;

    COLOUR: Dark amber.

    UNDILUTED:

NOSE: Mixed spice notes, with defined sweet

sherry influences. Some lightly poached pear

with a touch of aniseed. Subtle earthy notes

with a delicate hint of peat lingering in the

    background.

PALATE: Smooth with defined dark chocolate

influences, hints of bonfire embers and a

pronounced burst of sherry sweetness. Creamy

with a delicate hint of cracked black pepper.

    WITH WATER:

NOSE: Freshly ground coffee beans and defined

sherry notes emerge with a delicate floral edge.

Hints of aniseed and green leaves develop.

PALATE: A burst of mixed spices becoming

smooth and mouth warming, with a very

delicate hint of peat smoke. Herbal influences

emerge with a touch of cream toffee lingering.

    BODY: Full.

    FINISH: Smooth - yet warming.

    CASK TYPE(S): Refill Sherry hogsheads.

    • Nose
Heavy and compact nose of dark fruits, sherry tones and oak
    • Taste
Sweet and thick taste of Dates,Plums, Figs, Raisins mixed with soft plesant spices
    • Finish
Long finish without surprises, slightly drying at the end with a almond touch

Ah, a very good whisky. I do like my sherrymonsters. Well, this is not a
monster per se, but a beast at least. If you want a bottle of this, you will
need to cough up more than 450 EUR. Hence I am very grateful to my friend Jan
    VC for the sample.
    • Nose
The sweet, creamy nose is a wonderful mix of all sorts of spices. Walnuts, aniseed, soya sauce and old sherry. Parma ham? Some earth, too.
Menthol. The sweetness translates into chocolate, fresh plums and coffee. And
it has a clear, although discrete, tracé of peat. Boy, this is very good!
    • Taste
I had expected it to be creamier on the palate. This is rather light.
But taste wise there is no reason for complaints. Dark chocolate with mint â€
    • Finish
The finish is medium in length, soft and warm.
