Whisky Reviews for Ardbeg Mór 2

8 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.67 points

  1. QuarterCentury scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

A second edition of Ardbeg `MOR`, but unlike 2007`s cask-strength

version, this has been bottled at 46%, as per the normal 10yo. The

bottle will look pretty impressive in your living room and, when empty,

will hold an awful lot of 2ps and a very big candle.

      Blind sample:

      What color? ;)
      I think it's awesome.

Sweet smoke greets me first from the glass. But he pulls a lot of legs. The smoke is not intrusive or impetuous. A nice maritime scent arises. Salty sea breezes and damp sand. The smoked ham is also at the start. But not intrusive. Rather shy. Lime and brown sugar. Vanilla and some coconut join in from the background. But there is still something dry, barren. Something like cotton candy sits down next to it.
    • Taste
Soft start. He doesn't have a lot of percent. The smoke comes through here more powerfully. It gets ashy. I also have this sweet candy floss in my taste. A bit peppery and with a pinch of salt. A bit metallic and rusty in taste. With the second sip, a light fruity note pushes past the smoke. Some banana and a mineral, rocky touch.
    • Finish
Medium length. Smoky and sweet. Pleasantly oily with subtle pepperiness.

  5. granella2003 scored this whisky 97 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Intense smoky, fruity aromas with a clear presence of barley, lemon, lime and dark chocolate which overflow into scents of smoked fish, crispy bacon with baked pineapple and pear juice. Complex but beautifully balanced
    • Taste
A taste explosion of barley and malt with lime and lemon in the lead role that complemented by including cinnamon, banana and blueberries. Subtle transition to a more warm and smoky taste of roasted marshmallows, licorice and tar. Truly a delight for the senses
    • Finish
Very long and smoky aftertaste of tar, anise, toasted almonds and hints of soft barley and toffee

A large bottle of Ardbeg 10 Year

malt whisky with a huge capacity of 4.5 liters! Just as good as the `normal`

version but some buddies bigger, a bottle of art with the title itself may carry

in my opinion. Beautifully designed with all the fantastic details emerge,

and the taste is obviously excellent.
