    You do not have to say a lot about the JD. Scotch Single Malt-Afficionados are a bow to it, and in the world of Bourbons / Tennessee whiskey there is much better - but also worse. In the summer, with ginger ale and on ice, very refreshing.

      Vanilla, sweet corn, slightly resinous.
    • Taste
      Like the nose: sweetness of vanilla and corn. Caramel. Mild spicy, woody.
    • Finish
      Dry and sweet. Finally, the corn sweetness and dry woodiness dominate.

    I've had this bottle forever, an ex-roommate left it. People assured me a spirit can withstand the test of time, so it should still be drinkable. Probably will re-rate, since i'm sure I'll have this on a later point in my life, from a more 'freshly opened' bottle. But, for now :

    Scent is very weak , some vanilline, some oak, but not at all expressive. Some alcohol bite, but not too much. Taste is smooth, sweet, dense woody notes, some vanilline - that builds up. A mild alcoholic boozyness, but remains very smooth. Finish has some alcohol, mild vaniline. Overall, a very tampered whiskey, with very little intensity. Either due to age, or due to the drink on it's own. Seems more like a get-drunk spirit than a sipper.

    Classic of bourbon whiskeys. Great for nose, with a little bit sweet flavor and taste this whiskey is fine and has nothing extra.

    This whiskey seems to be a little pretender. But why the decades-long worldwide sales success? Despite mass production and favorable price: In the relation to the usual Bourbons of BJ and EW mE a correct enlightenment!

      sweet mint, fresh oak, vanilla; deep, but still light
    • Taste
      slightly ashy overgrown spiciness, corn syrup
    • Finish
      The ashes cloud something, then lightly burnt caramel sweet, fine tart from the oak, even Drerrfruechte can be guessed
