And here I have the next Bruichladdich in the glass, who knows how to convince me. Again, the unmistakable musty Laddie character with the flavors from the barrel complement each other. I particularly like the nose, as here both the mustiness and intense port wine flavors and spicy oak come to bear. In the mouth, the whole thing is then a bit dirtier oak and oak, which I agree, but probably not for everyone. Bruichladdich's Whiskys are fun!
    • Nose
Wow, what a nice first nose! Typical muffle-sweet malt notes flow towards me, followed by voluminous, vinous berries (wild berry jam, plum jam, red wine gum, mulled wine sweets), warming vanilla, some woodruff and spicy oak. With some time in the glass, the port notes set the tone more and more, leaving room for the stuffy Laddie character. In addition, there are now subtle smoky aromas of roasted almonds, sweet liquid chocolate and a very interesting spice, which I would describe as a mixture of mint and bouillon cubes.
    • Taste
The cask strength manages to convey a lot of intense aromas in the taste. Here, the strong spicy oak dominates together with the sweet berries from the nose. In addition, here are also pleasant leather and tobacco notes to advantage.
    • Finish
The finish is determined by an intense, but to my liking pleasant oak, which is shown by sweet dark chocolate, espresso and black pepper and the mouth is occupied. At the end, spicy cedar, tobacco leaves, subtle leather flavors and earthy notes of black smoke remain. The berry flavors of the Port wine are only discreetly visible in the background, but are quite present.

Immediately strawberries pour out of the glass, followed by a strong alcohol note. Interestingly, he still remains alcoholic even after heavy dilution and would definitely have earned a long time in the barrel.
