Whisky Reviews for Juveniles 20th Anniversary

3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 82.67 points

  1. hartist scored this whisky 80 points Expert Senior

Tested on sample, thanks to Julien.
    • Nose
Rather fresh, moderately intense and complex. Vegetable scents, floral, fresh fruits, cereals, almond, vanilla, a little "slag".
    • Taste
Medium body, fluid texture. A little too masked by alcohol that obscures the flavors evoked on the nose. Slight vegetable bitterness. Overall set back from the nose.
    • Finish
Average finish that fades a little for lack of body. White wine, spices, a hint of cold ashes.

N: Young malt on orange boiled sweets. As yummy as popsicles to an eight year old
T: Most unexpected industrial metallic spirit
    F: Disappears to nothing
C: Fun nose but the rest is nowhere to be found.

    Scores a C-

    Juveniles 20th Anniversary Bottling
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of our dear friend Tim Johnston’s famous little bistrot a vins in Paris, we bottled him a cask strength malt whisky aged in (what else?) French oak.  (This is actually one of the casks from our Canto Cask Range, bottled just for Tim.)
    Juveniles Bistrot a vins, 47, Rue de Richelieu, 75001 Paris (33)-1 42-97-46-49.
    41 cases (246 bottles) produced.
Available in France from Juveniles or for shipment in EU countries via www.compassboxwhisky.com
Style:  Big, very rich, 100% Scotch malt whisky.  A malt whisky with a tremendous amount of flavour owing to the combination of malt distillery characters interwoven by the vanilla, toast and spice flavours of new French oak.
Recommendations:  We recommend diluting these cask strength whiskies with slightly chilled water, to taste.  Heavier dilution makes the whiskies appropriate for aperitifs.  Lighter dilution for digestifs.
Distillery Sourcing:  Malt whiskies from the Highland villages of Brora, Alness and Carron.
Wood: Primary maturation in a mix of first-fill and refill American oak.  Secondary maturation for 18 months on new French oak (toast level 8 on our scale).
Bottling details:  Bottled at cask strength: 53.9%.   Natural colour.  Not chill filtered.Further Information: CB CB2
