  1. Pyromann scored this whisky 75 points Expert Senior

The blend is not bad at all, I thought I was drinking a single malt. In competition with other single malts this is no longer such a glory. Well-drinkable whiskey with creamy texture, but unfortunately less pronounced. Rather, categories easily forgotten.
    • Nose
Aroma generally weaker. Timber and chocolate - fruit sweetness. In the background some fresh fruit and malt (I feel Glenmorangie 10y, but in a faint incense). Rather, however, it is not clear
    • Taste
Sweet, creamy, quite interesting is the combination of sweetness and woodiness
    • Finish
      Woody, sharp, medium-long.

    • Nose
N: steamy sherry, a bit musty. But in a nice way. Fleshy and light peat smoke. Peach, caramel, tea biscuits, dried fruit, gingerbread, malty, dark fruit,
    • Taste
P: salted meat, stale sherry, reminds me of a cross between ben nevis and mortlach. Obviously some smoke too. Creamy and hints of new make spirit. Some fake leather and tobacco. Old books. White pepper.
    • Finish
F: acidic, oak, sherry, slightly pepper, and smoky.

    Quick hit review.

Sherry-infused aroma with a lot of tropical fruits. Reminiscent of Isle of Arran. Maritime notes with a mineral edge appear. On the palate, typical Speyside fruitiness, followed by light peat smoke and mild dryness towards the development. I am thinking 'Highland Park' and 'Mortlach'. Very good quality, I wouldn't mind having a bottle of it.

Lush sherry with gingerbread, dried fruit, light camphor notes, spruce honey, some hay and slightly smoky aromas. Later also nuts, earth and Panforte.

Tasted at a Malt Mongers Israel Evening

This wasn’t the best start to the evening. The whisky felt very sour to me, in a sourdough kind of way, which I do not like, and it had that musty kind of sherry profile, like a young Glenfarclas does, which I also do not like.

    Reviewed in my blog: https://iwriteaboutstuffilike.com/2016/10/29/mmi-lost-distilleries-evening/
    • Nose
Sour. Very malty. Musty books. Wet leaves. Boiled sweets.
    • Taste
Quite aggressive. A little dirt. Chocolate liqueur. A little salty.
    • Finish
Long. Sour. Dirty cherries. Nutty wood.
