Quite a one-dimensional nose, not uncomfortable but not very complex. Unobtrusive on the palate, the smoke is well withdrawn. Chocolate and fruit can be easily detected. Could use a few percent more.
    • Nose
Sweet phenolic smoke, citrus, pepper, malt, a hint of salt. Apple, chocolate.
    • Taste
Smoke, sweet, quite soft, grapes, malt, chocolate
    • Finish
Pleasantly subtle smoke, chocolate, citrus fruit, grapes. Somewhat powerless.

Fresh and sweet touch. citrus. Slightly floral. Very subtle smoky (phenol).
A yellow apple is added very late.

Nice summery dram, probably with a good amount of Caol Ila in the mix. Feels young, uncomplicated, but it has a fresh summery side that is nice, and the glass is emptied quite quickly. You won’t spend too much time in analysis on this, but I guess you might reach for the bottle quicker than you think as it’s honestly quite quaffable!
    • Nose
Medium intensity. Light varnish notes and green and yellow apples. Some maritime smoke and notes make me think of a young Caol Ila. Graphite, a bit of citrus, hints of banana.
    • Taste
Light and sweet arrival. After a few seconds, peppery notes as well as citrus and peat arrive, once again it feels like a young Caol Ila. Pear, orange peel and grapefruit, with a spoon of olive oil. Maybe just a drop of tabasco sauce. The mouthfeel is a bit thin unfortunately. Slightly salty.
    • Finish
Peat, chocolate and citrus notes, wood smoke, medium length. Light warmth at the end of the palate/start of the throat.

    • Nose
I immediately think of a cross between a caol ila and a lagavulin. Young, typical islay peat, citrus, pear, smoke, gently even a little medicinal to standards. Fresh mint leaves, pepper,
    • Taste
young, vanilla, smoke, touch of burnt wood, lemon, toffee, salty, pear
    • Finish
medium length, smoke, ash, malty, salted bacon,

    Quick hit review.

Typical Islay peatiness on the nose, probably Caol Ila. Seaweed and brine combine with honey, vanilla and citrus fruits. The taste is characterized by peat smoke and peppery spices, before minty freshness pushes it into a new direction. It's obviously young but very drinkable.

On the nose, a little smoke and undifferentiated fruits!
In the mouth, it's fruity on vanilla, pear and a little caramel! also woody and smoke.
In the final, it's good, but it's short, to ask if we will not be used again to retest this sudden end!
a sweet blend, velvety, but basic too!

A good Islay characteric distillery until the closing of 1860.
    • Nose
Pear, salty caramel, industrial carbon, herbals and olive oil
    • Taste
Strongly salty and mineral. Citruses, spicy oak. Touch of sweet peat.
    • Finish
      Medium length, salty, slightly smoky

If that's the whiskey of yesteryear, I prefer today's whiskey!
    Enthusiasm 1/5 Whiskey n ° 1185
    • Nose
Ooh, that oozes the great youth! Vanilla. Vegetable notes. All that fades quickly and becomes bland!
    • Taste
Flexible, but then the reduction is very sensitive!
    • Finish
Some roundness, but then it's short.

But yeah, it's not bad, of course you can get better drinks for the money, but as an interesting thing why not.
    • Nose
Interesting fine scent, in which, besides peat, fruit tones (oranges, butter pears) combine with chocolate biscuits and woody. It does not sound bad at all, even though it is not so complex
    • Taste
Immediate onset of peat with fine fruit sweetness in the background (again there are pears and apricots). In the end, everything is covered with woodiness and really strong peat that is very close to Ardbeg
    • Finish
In reverberation malt, tea, light fruits, peat, finely spiced - medium long

Tasted at a Malt Mongers Israel evening.

Styled on an old Islay distillery, it was delightfully peaty along with some of that thick sweetness characteristic of a good, young Islay malt. Yummy.

interesting idea to create Whisky of these lost distilleries. the Lossit has a gentle peat and smoke Aroma. the sweetness reminds me of Marzipan - nice. the finish is not too long but still very nice. I was surprised how well balanced and complex this one is.
