- WITH WATER
Nose has very little change but the palate is much smoother with the alcoholic roughness no longer present.
Raisins and candied fruits still the order of the day with a little orange marmalade.
Finish is still medium but not as long as before.
Pernod, aniseed, menthol, honeycomb, butterkist popcorn, coconut and icing sugar
Full fat, vibrant on orange spice, sweet toffee cream, hints of menthol like the nose suggested, dark plums and a very good sherry integration, with some juicy sultana in the mix with a little peat at the back of the palate.
Good length, on a candied sweetness of orange and pineapple pieces but right at the end a little bitterness creeps in.
- A sherry monstrous but delicious Glenugie.
Starts with lots of oakiness. Quite astringent. Earthy notes. Fresh pencil shavings. Menthol. Tobacco. Whiff of smoke.
Now plenty of sherry influence. Thick juicy syrup. Toffee. Orange zest and raisins. Espresso coffee and dark chocolate.
Long. Spicy, gingery and peppery. Cinnaom. Bitterness at the end.
