a wonderful Bowmore. Lots of power, still elegant, lots of Bowmore-typical flavors, a wonderfully independent whisky.
    • Nose
A lot of sherry, sometimes a bit sticky sweet, but in total the oak notes keep the nose in balance. Beautiful herbaceous peat notes, noticeably present without dominating. In addition to the fruity notes of sherry also a little angegammelte orange, plus a whole field of flowers. Very much Bowmore in this nose.
    • Taste
In the mouth actually dominates the bowmoretypische floral note and the herbaceous peat note at the beginning, in the end with a lot of wood. The whisky is not a sweet, a lot of tart flavors, a light acidity and a lot of Bowmore unsexyness.
    • Finish
Flowers, violets, herbaceous peat, a lot of oak, a light fruit acid, tobacco and unfortunately not that long.

In the smell, the luscious sherry, the spice of the age in contrast to a subliminal freshness and fruitiness from the original distillate convince. This combination leaves nothing to be desired. Also in the mouth shows the maturity of the age, the long years in the barrel, but also here without the cask control everything. The finish fits. Especially the herbs give the whisky its own character, which sets it apart from other sherry whiskys, even if they are perhaps a little too much in the foreground. blind tasting
    • Nose
Immediately, tons of sherry aromas rise from the glass, oranges, spicy conifer needles, peppermint tea, a touch of woodruff, earth, freshly cut wood, and sherry again and again
    • Taste
Very soft body and medium onset, spicy oak, dry sherry, also in the taste I have associations with forest, again tea, but now black, some chocolate, herbaceous bitter bitterness, a hint of thyme, sage and many other herbs
    • Finish
Spicy oak dominates the finish, but with little bitterness, again a lot of herbs, whose memory lingers for a long time, at the end again sweet, medium to long

A very complex whisky, which for the first time offers a floral touch to me at Bowmore. The nose is great and excited. Also the taste is very tasty, but here too, as with the exclusive Feis Ile 2015 Bunnahabhain filling: Much too expensive.
    • Nose
a light smoke blows around the nose, surrounded by the sherry aroma, which fights through the smoke, to a slightly floral aroma, some tobacco and slightly salty and maritime with seaweed and seafood
    • Taste
Clear floral aromas, dry sherry, tobacco, some leather, raisins and sultanas and prunes, then dry. Light smoke billows float through everything.
    • Finish
the smoke remains, as well as the fruit sweetness and some oak

Nose: spicy warm smoke, a typical Bowmors floral perfume note (not disturbing), cloves and cinnamon, tobacco, dry sherry with sweetness, dried fruit and oak. Simply beautiful and nice and easy. Smoke + sherry + age = ingenious nose!
Taste: spicy on, sweet and "juicy" sherry, warm smoke, spice cake, - then bumm then a lot of oak - very woody and bitter. The smoke stays in the mouth long and warm, and the "old" sherry is increasingly pushed into the background by the oak tree.

Wow - old bowmors from sherry casks are always awesome. Unfortunately, the barrel was a bit too dominant (had better in the age range in the glass). Still very delicious but again extremely overpriced.

I find the older bowmores through the bank very interesting and I think you have something very special about this violet note. Of course, this is also very dominant and unfortunately superimposed the remaining notes a bit.
    • Nose
clear dry sherry, slightly spicy smoke, nut, plums, of course oak, moist tobacco, chocolate with shot, concentrated lumumba, cinnamon, after the first sip you have the perfume mixture in the nose
    • Taste
ok, directly the Bowmore perfume note, light smoke, on the sherry, first sweet, then dry, chocolate (bittersweet), dry oak
    • Finish
Still the violets, which are sweet, the rest rather dry, light smoke, from the sherry remains little

The nose is quite exciting, beautiful creamy sherry influences, which make the mouth water. The alcohol is wonderfully hidden and falls discreetly into the background.

In terms of taste, however, this Bowmore disappoints me a lot!
Very sprightly with a weak body ...
    A real shame!
The finish is very long, but the bitter influences of sherry barrel outweigh clearly, even here not convincing ...

    A typical example of:
Expensive does not always have to be good ...
