    light and zesty
    • Nose
      83 83
Lots of vanilla and cereals, white wine but also some paint thinner notes, warm bread and dry grass
    • Taste
      84 84
Bitter sweet, nice white fruits mixing with a bitter cardboardy grain grist.
A hint of lemon surfaces and then it seems to gets sweeter much sweeter on yellow and white fruit gums and there is a lasting barley sugar infusion.
    • Finish
      83 83
Reasonable length remaining sweet but drying towards the end

    A well matured grain whisky.
    • Nose
      It's grain alright.

      Soft and secretive grain.

It's sweet, gentle vanilla and caramel, like from a forth refill bourbon cask.

Traces of fruit, mostly uncooked plantain and a hint of pineapple.
    • Taste
Quite hot. But a velvety creamy texture help to calm it down.

Vanilla coming through more noticable than on the nose.

A very rich and heavy toffee/nougat note bursting up front and slowly fading, giving way to more fruity flavours.

Sort of carried on a grain breakfast cereal with dried fruit foundation.

      Fairly complex.
    • Finish
      Past medium lenght, approaching long.

      Drying, slightly bitter.

      Spice stays for some time.

This is definitely not for everyone but if you are quite adventurous I think you will enjoy it as I have.
    • Nose
This is the last generous glass of the bottle and I have to admit I have struggled with the nose. You would have to be a Bloodhound to rattle notes off here. Different times, different rooms, outside and nothing helps. All I've managed is a faint whiff of buttery popcorn and paper. I also added water and that didn't help either.
    • Taste
Now the taste is something else, nougat, buttered cream cracker, quite strong but it settles nicely. Vanilla and natural yoghurt. The grain just sits on the palate very comfortably. There are some fruit notes like apricot and peach. This is well balanced and the quality shines through.
    • Finish
The finish is long and creamy, slightly drying and some bitterness but that's ok it fits the bill.

  6. St. Pauli scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

This is one of the better grains I've tasted. It doesn't get overly complex, but it is very well balanced: it doesn't get bitter, doesn't show traces of tiredness of the cask, almost doesn't have that chemical smell of varnish and the like, and is very friendly and creamy. Give it time, and it will give you a lot of pleasure.
    • Nose
This is a rather soft and dignified nose. It's not too complex, but gentle and fruity. Grain, vanilla, pastry, unripe banana, muesli with dried apricots.
    • Taste
Very bourbon-esque. It's still soft, rounded and friendly. Still, the grain and muesli dominate, but certainly with (dried) stone fruits, like peach and apricot. Vanilla is very present, giving it a round and creamy and toffee-ish texture together with the grain. At the end, there is a friendly spiciness, with mainly cinnamon. Also there is a tiny hint of leather.
    • Finish
Rather long, and now a tad more on glue, resin and varnish, but still OK. The banana is back, together with the vanilla, grain and spice. Quite pleasant!

  7. Skiddilly scored this whisky 88 points Expert Junior

I gave it an hour in the glass before I started tasting.
    • Nose
      A whiff of
pineapple, then porridge, vanilla, brown sugar, lots of caramel and some grain.
    • Taste
      Caramel,
      orange, lemon, strawberry, grain.
    • Finish
      Grapefruit,
brown sugar, caramel, cherry, a little pepper

    • Taste
