DrBardamu gave this whisky 85 points

Perpetuum was released on Ardbeg Day 2015 (officially May 30th, 2015), which also happened to be the 200th anniversary of Ardbeg’s founding.

Perpetuum is composed of both ‘very old and very young whiskies,’ which have been aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. As a result, the whisky has a straw gold appearance with classic aromas of dark chocolate, peat smoke and salty sea air.

peterjpvanas gave this whisky 84 points

Colour: Amber edging to Caramel, long slow legs

matured in Bourbon and Sherry casks
Nose: a clear smoke fragrance, maybe bitumen and the sweetish of chocolate, a bit of wood and nuts. Also a whiff of citrus (light). I expected it to be a more smokey dram. A bit of vanilla. but less pronounced than the Sherry notes.
Taste: here the smoke/peat comes more to the foreground. Quite strong flavours, but nicely balanced. A bit of coastal brine/salty water, some spics; cinnamon? vanilla comes through but is suppressed. hints of barbecue
Finish: pleasant balanced lingers on
Bottle: the typical ARDBEG bottle and image
