Here it shows that one should not underestimate a blend per se. This is a Campbeltown blend that does not need to be shy of comparing it to a single malt from this area.
Springbank, Glen Scotia and Glengyle are the only distilleries in Campbeltown. Springbank and Glengyle are owned by J. & A. Mitchell, as is bottler Cadenhead.
Heather, apricot, a hint of peat. A very pleasant, well-balanced nose, the high alcohol content does not bother. Reminiscent of CS bottlings from Springbank.
What did I have in the glass again? Springbank?
The taste of ripe apricots and peaches is distributed in the mouth. Heath herbs shimmer through. Peat taste is there, but only minimal. Salt can be guessed.
Long finish. Peat is getting stronger again.
