Always nice to try such old school Whiskies, could have gone better with a higher alcohol percentage, the taste doesn't raise to the same bar as the nose
    • Nose
      91 91
Very fruity, more apple pie than fresh, some peaches / apricot, slightly sour, deep but narrow in terms of variety
    • Taste
      85 85
Same like nose but this time less depth (40% - were they still inside after all these years?), additionally wood spiciness, but delicate, not astringent.
    • Finish
      85 85
Not too long for finish, same flavours fill the mouth as before, adding only a slight alcoholic note

The typical G&M CC taste here & more... I like it. A recommended try.

Usually, the G&M miniature range comprises of the mid-aged whiskies of certain years.

Glenlossie 1968 can be found at this database bottled as 11,12,14 and 17yo.

This mini surprisingly happens to be the 17yo version which I deem to be best of all 4.

Good job on this one G&M.

Very good nose, peaches and strawberries, with depth.... As for the palate, loses a point or two due to strength... it's a bit flat also but not metallic or cardboardy as sometimes can occur with these old miniatures, and it does maintain some of the its fruitiness. The finish loses another point or two, probably due to the ABV but it is by no means bad. Definite over 90 points or greater if greater ABV but alas, 89 points for me here.
