Of course, the Calvados still delivers apple and nuts, if you like it is the perfect whisky. I can have that, but not always.

This may of course be triggered by the knowledge of the Fassreifung, but I have significant apple notes, including for me to recognize as Bruichladdich, this creamy Keksteiggrundnote that likes to go cheesy, but Apple definitely sets the tone, slightly floral, acid Apple, light sweetness, a little vanilla, almonds, towards marzipan
    • Taste

creamy, slightly watery mouthfeel, sweet, vanilla, but also sour, ripe floury red apple, a few nuts, become bitter, some oak
    • Finish

Sweet in some places, but the basic mouthfeel is now rather tart, apple everywhere, now more of a green apple with a lot of acidity

Definitely something completely different. A totally independent whisky with a not everyday, enormous sweetness and tons of apples. There are certainly more complex malts from Bruichladdich. But such a perfect finish you do not get every day in the glass. The flavors are beautifully combined and give a fascinating overall picture of an apple orchard, somewhere in paradise. I like it!
    • Nose
The first impression, how could it be otherwise, are juice-dripping, red apples. Vanilla sauce, freshly mown grass, brown sugar and a hint of cinnamon. The longer I smell, the more present the bourbon keg becomes, with its strong sweetness and tropical notes that the apples can not dispel.
Far away, you can hear surf of the sea beating against the rocks, a hint of spray and citrus floating over.
The alcohol content of 49.9% is not noticeable, only a slight coolness on the nose reminds me that this is a high-proof spirit.
    • Taste
Incredibly cute and full. Is there any sugar in the barrel? With the typical oiliness that Bruichladdich is the malt quickly dresses the entire mouth. Again, I clearly taste the calvados with its apples. The apples have now fallen over the tree from the tree and exude extreme sweetness.
And then comes some oak, against the sweet apples, but she has no chance.
    • Finish
It tingles pleasantly on the tongue for a relatively long time. The apple peels were caramelized in brown sugar, but remained a tad too long in the pan and lightly burned. On the palate, the oak is now becoming clearer and together with the apple notes an interesting idea how the wood of an apple tree might taste ...

In the nose, this filling is very fruity and notes of green apples dominate the origin of the Calvados barrel. On the whole, though, he is very spicy and "bubbly", dominating alcohol even though he only has 49.9%. Unfortunately, a few drops of water do not help.
