Whisky Reviews for Edradour 2003
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.52 points
it comes immediately an intense. spicy, sweet fruitiness in the nose. Red berries mixed with black berries, some fruit gums. A little vanilla. Candied orange peel. Very subtly white pepper with ginger. Nice complex and still very fruity. Great
He is heavy, strong and sweet. A round mouthfeel. Clearly dark berries, dark chocolate with milk chocolate. Behavior Turkish Mocha with Turkish Delight. Keeping sweet.
Then the seasoning with cinnamon, ginger, cloves, white pepper. Everything very interwoven and harmonious.
The finish is beautiful long, the spices remain on the tongue, with a pleasant tingle. The finish is then increasingly dry. Beautiful salivation in the mouth.
From the throat come sweet notes, a little nut, just like Brazil nuts. Then something like old leather develops, also some tobacco. As a fruit note, I would specify strawberry candy.
So, Port and Edradour. Seems to be a great marriage. Have to try more.
I will buy after I get the opportunity.
- Another great single malt scotch whisky of the "cask matured range" made by Edradour!
- one of many great port-matured edradours, this is the beautiful fresh berry fruit in the nose, the typical earthy-leathery Edradour notes are very poorly divine
intense, fruity, sweet and spicy - with raisins and gingerbread spice it starts, after some breathing then come through fresher fruits, red berries, ripe cherries, wine gum ... some cardamom and cloves
full-bodied, heavy, sweet-spicy, sweet dried fruit, chocolate, latte, slightly spicy
long, gingerbread with chocolate coating, some sharpness
- Edradour 2003-2015, Port Matured, Batch 3, 46% alc. original bottling
Extension: Port wine barrels
Region: Highlands, Scotland Nose: Spicy and fruity at the same time, looks very deep. The first torrent of flavors is a bit intrusive, better you give the whisky a few minutes in the air. Black currants emerge, followed by blackberries, dried raspberries and quite clearly port. In addition, there are notes of heated gummy bears and rye, rounded off by cloves. However, the fruity sweetness predominates.
Palate: Heavy and strong, initially with an emphasis on the fruit flavors of the nose, plus strawberries. Behind it appears a certain spice: cinnamon, cloves as well as some oak and roasted malt. Cocoa and coffee follow behind.
Finish: The finish is long and is taken mainly by the spices and coffee notes. Besides some leather, tobacco and currant.
Conclusion: The nose is still relatively simple, on the palate, the whisky is much heavier and more complex. For friends of Portfeinreifungen a must!
