Nice, full and fruity and sweet whisky. Pretty intense, a lot of citrus and peach, very pleasant.
    • Nose
      87 87
Fruity, citrus, floral too and green of plants. Full and rich nose. Some vanilla comes in, then some cinnamon as well. Later on a warm, sweet aroma arrives, and peach.
    • Taste
      88 88
Strong, pickering, pepper. Sweet and fruity, peach, orange, some honey. Full taste, pretty intense. Also spicy algain, cinnamon.
    • Finish
      88 88
Still pretty strong, sweet and fruity, but also a clear bitter note underneath, orange zest or grapefruit. Pretty long finish, with some peach now.

  2. The Macallan scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Very nice floral- fruit bomb, Ace!!
    • Nose
Some ripe (tropical) fruit at first combined with some new wood, nice soft nose feel (reduced: a fruit orchard, more floral notes and later some woody notes, overtime some cinnamon-candy)
    • Taste
Very tasty with spiced fruit and slightly drying (reduced: more floral/fruity flavors and some spices) Good mouth feel
    • Finish
Warm, intense, woodspices and quit long

The smell of this dram is lovely but it lacks some depth and complexity on the palate. The high abbreviation is not harsh or overpowering. A wee drop of water makes it even sweeter. I hoped (and expected) it had a bit more oomph.

A bit too restrained for my taste.

    • Nose
A rich, fresh, full yet subtle whisky with aromas of solvent, grass, butter, hay, honeysuckle, pear drops, candy store, berries (mainly gooseberries), cedar wood, strawberry milkshake, floral tones, melon, musty basement, honey, icing sugar, apricot, yellow plums, kiwi, sage, green banana (almost like Pisang Ambon) and sawdust.
    • Taste
A full, powerful yet restrained whisky with aromas of vanilla, melon, fresh fruit, fennel, white pepper, cardamom, wax, honey, cured ham, ginger, hint to menthol, soft tannins, oak, cedar wood, subtle virginia tobacco, cold tea, birch wood, gooseberries, blackberries, grapes and a hint of elderberries.
    • Finish
A medium long and sweet finish with aromas of some pepper, aniseed, honey, berries and a little oak.

It starts off with a good nose, but the taste is lacking complexity and body, makng it a bit one-dimensional - which is a pity. Tasted 19/11/2015.
    • Nose
Wow, this smells like walking into the wood section of a DIY-store! Some faint vanilla comes through, and a light fruitiness (currants).
    • Taste
Creamy, almost waxy texture, and the high ABV gives a lot of warmth - but the taste isn't very strong. I can distinguish some fresh fruitiness (Galia melon comes to mind), vanilla and later on aniseed on the roof of the mouth.
    • Finish
Finish lingers with aniseed on the roof of the mouth.
