    A young, very average Islay Malt;
    [Color] white wine;
    • Nose
      very fresh, sweetish note, light smoke;
    • Taste
      already clear alcohol note / sharpness, sweetness, distinct youth;
    • Finish
      medium-length, quickly fading finish;

    Quite nice whisky with some complexity. After the first wave of smokiness oaky and buttery character is getting over. Rather pricey as for NAS but worth tasting.
    • Nose
      Smoky, earthy, medicinal notes, iodine, green apple, lemon zest. After dilution come some farmy notes
    • Taste
      Spicy, sweet, smoky, dried fruits (perhaps pear), vanilla, butter, green apple after adding water
    • Finish
      Medium-long, getting dry with time, salty, spicy, smoky, somewhat nutty and slightly oaky at the end

  5. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

    There have been more 100% Islay releases. This one looks a bit young and I notice the lower ppm number so far most clearly.
    • Nose
      Starts totally malty, then very fresh, citrus notes, grated lemon peel, a little peach, little smoke, a little vanilla, but malt and lemon dominate, but then comes over quite young, but I do not mean alcohol or pungency, but just the given flavors
    • Taste
      very oily, creamy, vanilla, also some lemon, yes smoke is there, also a bit more than in the nose, but still not very much, sweet, also here malty, a hint of floral meadow (floral)
    • Finish
      in the background, the smoke actually gets a little bit stronger, here also the peach from the nose, fruity, a pinch of cinnamon, a little bitter

  6. Calmar scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

    A good mole, according to its strength, is worse than barrel releases, but much better than the standard releases of a commercial fortress, a good combination of barrel and base, despite the dominance of phenolic derivatives, bourbons are also harmoniously intertwined in the overall picture.
    • Nose
        Open, dry, smoke, smoked, salted cucumbers, dry peat, light coniferous notes, resin, lime peel.
    • Taste
      Dense, smoke-sweet, orange syrup, peat, coal, burnt caramel.
    • Finish
      Sweet and sour, peat and smoke, smoked products, candies, a little lemon zest, grassy bitterness.

    In the smell of a great, taste and reverberation, very good even though somehow extra complex. But the price. Anyway, Loch Gorm tasted more
    • Nose
      Earthquake, wet gravel, peat, marshmallow, spice, finely sweetly rounded by malt and vanilla background
    • Taste
      Peat, sweet rounded smoke, chocolate biscuits, latte, citrus, a good dose of pepper
    • Finish
      In reverberation, woodiness, vanilla, earthy, gum and spice - medium-long

    An overall successful, young Kilchoman. The nose I found in the first impression (solvents) a little getting used to; but she was getting better and better.
    • Nose
      First hints of solvent. Then smoke and wet hay: for me, what I typically associate with Kilchoman. In addition clearly tobacco and in the background exotic fruits (bananas?) As well as a slight orange note.
    • Taste
      In the beginning quite sharp and immediately peat smoke. Slight impact of iodine. Then a tart nuttiness and cereal notes, which are increasingly sweet.
    • Finish
      Dry, long and smoky: peat, ashes and some salt.
