distillery another world and not Japanese, small detour for the irreducible Scottish!
    soon renamed yushan!
    • Nose
glue, spices, a little licorice, various fruits "blended" in compote!
      intense wood and malt
      vanilla in return
    • Taste
stubborn wood, with intense feeling, very pleasant
fruits on mandarin, a little mango, peach, cooked but not too much, leaving a feeling of freshness!
a peppery spicy return, and sweet, honeyed sensation with a little cocoa!
    • Finish
wood, softer spices, sweet caramel, an important pastry sensation stays in the glass!
      it's round, fruity, it's good!

It's a surprisingly good whisky. There is a bit of acetate on the nose and the finish is a bit tannic and bitter, but the spirit and casks are meshing pretty well. The sherry casks used also seem to have been of decent quality. A decent sherried single malt, all in all.
    • Nose
Sweet citrus cordial, a quick dash of malt and burnt almond, oak, dried red fruits (start cranberries, prunes, and black currants but finishes figs and jujubes), candied ginger and nutmeg, and more oak with a slight nip of acetate.
    • Taste
Tangerines and sweet oranges, rich sherried dried fruits, malt, oak and fresh autumnal leaf litter, and mocha with a touch of mint.
    • Finish
Dark chocolate covered espresso beans, nutmeg and orange-blossom water, and oak and sherry tannins

A heavier distillate, with sherry ripening. Is that going well? In this case, the experiment was fine. The slight hint of sulfur is fine to me. Not overly exciting, but nice.
    • Nose
Glue, resin, pine needles, unmalted barley, yeast, bread, and a light sulfur with beef broth. Then show orange peel, dried fruit (especially date), alcohol and nata wood.
    • Taste
More friendly than the nose suggests, and a good balance between (associated) sweet and sour. The orange appears more clearly, just like the date and now also raisin. Then still a light broth taste, together with caramel, toffee, malt and dough.
    • Finish
Medium, returning with a nice acidity of orange. In addition, dried fruit, toffee, light pepper and a mild wood flavor.

I think this is a wonderful dram. Beautiful in balance, rich nose, rich taste.
    • Nose
Sherry. Vanilla, almond. Fresh fruit, apple. And a pepper. very fine nose.
    • Taste
Still vanilla and apple. Clearly spicy. Pepper. Creamy and full.
    • Finish
      Medium finish.

Straw, sawdust, wood chips, some citrus and a scent I associate with white wine / white grape juice. Not a bad nose at all! In the distance I also smell a little peat. More caramel and toffee comes out with water.
Taste: Sweet-sour beginning. What 'spicy'. then a bitterness. Here water needs to be added to open it properly. I also notice salmiak and liquorice. With water the whole thing is sweeter, but more towards a French rum.
    Body: Full and fat
Finish: Oops that collapses. The finish is somewhat short, with some wood, a sweet, and something of pear. Then slightly bitter. Water does not change much at the finish.
