- Notes by Adelphi;
1 of only 3797 bottles
A specially selected 10 cask batch from a single Island distillery, this highlights the best of the West – “ship’s haven”, Fascadale lies on the north-west point of the rugged, and timeless, Ardnamurchan peninsula. Its hidden, pebbled beach looks West and North towards the islands of Eigg, Rum, Muck and Skye. Whispered tales of smuggling abound…
- undisclosed Talisker
- Supposed to be Talisker
- Dry fragrance with very beautiful maritime notes, a pleasant S
granite saw dust +/o, peat o, salt/brine o, slightly acidic/sour in the nose (reminds me of a chemistry gas experiment in school, but can't remember the name of the gas, not chloride oxide, but close ), vanilla o. (84)
Later: fruity o, peppered cucumber slices (wtf ?) -. (86)
peat, pepper, slightly starch-y, and a few sour notes again (84)
drifting into salty savoury mouthfeel with a touch of citrus, neat.(86)
- Rumours tells it is a Talisker, seems to be a lot more mild than the ob version.
Anyway, damn good whisky.
Mild, vanilla and peat, a surprising pear sweetness develops.
Big vanilla sweetness mixed with peat.
Long, spicy(chili and cayenne), woody, ashes in the end.
