I'm so sorry;), but I think the horny nunmal. Safe for many at or above the limit of tolerability. A bottling that will always be remembered! 92 points
    • Nose
The mustiest whisky I ever had in my glass. Feels like the 100 years rumbled in a dank damp cellar hole. Also smells of old damp basement dungeon. Peaty taste. Herb garden. Lovage without end. Cress. Fermented old sweet wine. Sherrybodega. Raisins. Honey. Coffee beans. Engine oil.
    • Taste
Strong bitter oak notes, lapped by sweet sticky sherry. This really pappig-sweet sherry blends well with the bitter notes and the still pronounced herbal notes. Light pepper irritates the tongue edges. The palate dries a bit, moldy herbal tincture fills the mouth. Departed and good!
    • Finish
Herbs remain in the mouth forever. Maggi, light pepper and the sweet musty-fermented sherry note fill the mouth for hours. After this whisky, you can not pour any more, these notes are too dominant, these notes are too beautiful for me.

Modriges part. Funny .... never had. Wet forest, bark mulch, oak (especially in the
Nose), musty in the mouth, with some spicy wood and a slight sweetness (the sherry is there, but does not skin), tingles on the tongue, Alcoholic
Sharpness is still available (yes, 50%).

The whole thing with water then seems more harmonious. A malt to get used to.

I sit in a barn with wet hay and feed dried dates and nuts ... A indeed something 'different' malt.

I am somehow not right if I should find this Modrige good or bad now?

The second dram, however, has gotten more used to it and the malt is more harmonious and sweeter over. 82 points after getting 70 in the beginning - then 78 ...

Edit: retroactively (end of 2019) I'm almost sorry I have not come back with a sample of it.

  3. The Macallan scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

    A great Bunna
    • Nose
Thick sherry at first, oranges, chocolate, cherry bonbon, dried fruit (reduced: more estery mores, more aromatic, complexity
    • Taste
Velvety, thick, wood/tobacco, pungent (reduced: soft with layers of chocolate and spices
    • Finish
Warm, woodspices, with a nice layer of sherry fruit sweetness, quite long finish

Very special, but still cool anyway.
    90/100
    • Nose
A strong start with notes of dried fruit, wood and resin. Something musty.
    • Taste
Oak furniture with furniture polish comes to my mind. The leather sofa is next to me. In addition, dried fruits and herbs in the background
    • Finish
Long and intense after musty wood

    • Nose
Solvent, sherry, musty red wine, currants. A touch of vanilla. Clay soil. Moss, wet deciduous forest.
    • Taste
Sweetish, dry and tart. Red apples, wild strawberries, white pepper. Old leather, rotten wood. A touch of lemon.

  7. Numwierum scored this whisky 79 points Expert Senior

The barrel has a negative influence here. Unfortunately, the Bunna was allowed to mature for too long. Clear mushroom taste.
