Whisky Reviews for Tullibardine 1989 WhB

Well, just a tad too many off notes to be truly enjoyable without raising some eyebrows.
    • Nose
While the nose can certainly be called fruity (think coconut and baked apples, but also a lost mirabelle plum), it is mostly herbal and surprisingly mineral. Cumin, camphor and flint – that’s what comes to mind mostly when nosing this malt. Then there is also a little note of wet newspaper that I am not so fond of.
    • Taste
On the palate, the fruitiness is overpowered by all kinds of weird tastes that I would not immediately associate with whisky. Sure, the fruit is back and some typical woodspices and woodsmoke join in, but the wet newspaper is joined by molded wood and rotting plants.
    • Finish
In the finish, the coconut triumphantly returns to make some amends.
