This has been in a sherry cask but that must have been a re-re-re-fill or a very shy sherry cask. There are some reminiscence sherry aroma's but not much. Malt, oak, cereal and barley are the main features of this malt. That said, it's very interesting & engaging and it will keep you busy for some time to get all the aroma's out.
A soft, dry, sweet, fragrant and delicate whisky with aroma’s of heather honey, yeast, sweet oak, hint of sandalwood, soft cedar wood, toasted malt, passion fruit, preserved kumquat, hint of caramel, melon, figs, hint of sherry, toasted cereals, soft floral tones, barley sugars, black pepper, hint of cinnamon, milk chocolate, gooseberries and candies citrus peels.
A creamy, soft, sweet, delicate but lush whisky with area’s of grains, hint of licorice, candied fennel, sweet ginger, orange peel, vanilla, plums, creamy, a hint of butter, waxy tones, yeasty, indistinct spices, some tannins, toasted oak, black pepper, soft caramel, brown sugar and some floral tones.
A medium long and drying finish with aroma’s of sweet ginger, vanilla, barley malt, cereals, soft floral tones (rose peddles?), spices, dry tannins and a hint of dried fruits.
