Wonderful dram! Overwhelming nose, beautiful taste. It´s just on the finish line that this whisky is missing some more deepness, some longer maturation.
    • Nose
Heavy sherry with dark, overripe fruits. Rum soaked raisins. Caramel and vanilla. Strong creme brulee aromas, topped with burned cane sugar. A hint of sulfur. As well a little balsamico in the back. Appears somehow viscous, like caramel sauce. All carried by powerful alcohol. Very beautiful nose.
    • Taste
Powerful start. Sweet at first. Again the fruity balsamico and the burned caramel. Then the sulfur kicking back in. Pushing the taste from sweet to a sourish direction. What a rollercoaster ride this one is. The alcohol a little to dominant now, this dram can take some water. In the end the oak is showing up for the first time bringing in a quite bitter, spicy, but delicate flavor.
    • Finish
Medium-long finish with sourish oak and roasted coffee beans.

The nose and the taste of Glenallachie are dominated by an incredible sweetness and syrupy caramel, which can actually refer to a PX-Cask. In taste and on the finish, tart and discreetly bitter wood elements are found again and harmonize perfectly with the caramel sweetness. A great malt, I like it.
    • Nose
Dark and heavy sherry aromas lift powerfully out of the glass while tough and oily streaks slowly return to the glass viscous after panning. Dark berries mix with fruity orange carvings, sweet caramel swells out of the glass, toasted aromas and syrupy sweetness whet the appetite for more. Slowly, the alcohol in the nose begins to biter, a touch of espresso and milk chocolate mix.
    • Taste
Sweet berries and caramel dominate the first impression. Spicy oak flavors become more and more intense and end in a tart and sweet mixture. Sharpness tingles in the mouth and pearls dance on the tongue, tart wood notes emerge and cold espresso flows into the mouth. Slightly bitter walnut aroma mixes with roasted aromas, caramel and sweetness are in the background. The second sip of grapes and berries jump into the mouth, again caramel sweetness then slight tingling and harsh wood tones. A subtle pinch of pepper now heats the palate.
    • Finish
Slowly the subtle sharpness sounds out. Sweet caramel and dark berries play together, tart wood tones end in a slightly bitter walnut flavor. Dry and soft, the wood exudes a cozy warmth, coffee powder leaves a fine bitterness.

For a 10yo whisky already really the hammer what the spice has to offer, maybe a little too much seasoning. Nevertheless, a very successful whisky ...
    • Nose
Heavy aroma with neat caramel, raisins and other dark fruits. Extremely sweet in the nose, I think that was a Pedro Ximénez. I also like chocolate and nuts, but the caramel literally jumps out of the glass ... After a few sips, I also find coffee in the aroma.
    • Taste
Strong and very spicy on the cake, that is too soon for me too much seasoning ... After a short time comes back to the caramel, but disappears quickly and makes room for espresso with dry plums and raisins. He is slightly bitter back out, but he remains sticky sweet ... Because alcohol I do not find annoying now.
    • Finish
Medium-length finish that gets pretty dry. Espresso and dark chocolate stand out. Nevertheless, the sticky sweetness is still there.

I can only join noface83 in rating this whisky in every way.

I would also like to add that the bitterness that appears towards the end is by no means unpleasant, but rather a welcome change or rounding off of the sweet impressions. The alcohol, which somehow seemed prosecco-like sparkling on me (I can not describe it better) was not disturbing, but rather entertaining and not spicy.
Incidentally, this malt is one of the bottlings that do not soften with more water, but spicy-spicy and lose the depth of the taste. My tip: water yes, but only little and carefully dosed!
To emphasize is the very good maturing for only 10 years of age, one can easily err in a blind sample and close to a several years higher age.
