The smell is very complex and changes after a while. You can literally feel the struggle between the fresh, sour and exotic notes of the Littlemill basic character and the influence of the sherry barrel. The barrel loses. In the mouth then the barrel influence is stronger, but not the sherry, but more of the oak. In the finish finally sets the oak and reveals now but the age of whisky. Overall, the influence of sherry is low, if the wood can prevail later. This could disappoint the expectations of some whisky matured on a sherry barrel. But if you ignore this, there remains an exciting complex whisky that does not hide its origin.
    • Nose
Fresh, citrus and exotic fruits, lime, kiwi, initially sour, but then sweetened immediately, orange, spicy, ground almonds, now also some stone fruit, cherries, earthy notes, rotten wood, moss mix in the background The longer you smell, the more intense the tart, nutty notes become.
    • Taste
Soft body, but strong onset, the sour impressions of the nose continue, but the bitter, bitter influences of the oak are increasing, the fruity notes develop more towards sour cherries, the citrus notes remain in the background.
    • Finish
In the finish shows the age, tender bitter wood notes, nuts, dates, the tart taste of bitter bread crust remains the longest on the palate, but the finish is rather medium-long.

    Festival tasting format:
Marinade, varnish, dried fruits, berries, protein cream, herbs, nuts. Smart.

Vanilla, toffee, some stone fruits, delicate sherry, very enjoyable

  4. SimonOHA scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Lots of personality, whether you like it or not. An assertive and seductive style.
    • Nose
Nose of fresh figs, orange syrup. Cedar, nuts and caramel. Plums and cherries.
    • Taste
Powerful and intense mouth on wood, dark chocolate, a caramelized potpourri.
    • Finish
Long and warm finish, always on chocolate. A slightly sulfurous bitterness in the retro-olfaction.

The nose did not promise anything bad, but so much alcohol and sherry in taste and aftertaste killed everything for me, IMHO very sad ...

Balanced nose, typical Oloroso in the mouth and a beautiful Fassreifung which makes the finish long.
    • Nose
First in the nose, the sherry and a distinct Nussigkeit without being very musty .... okay, maybe a little bit. Some tree resin, maybe also pine cones. However, since this is not a first-fill sherry keg, the sherry is not overriding. With a little warmth, a little cocktail sauce comes for a while.
    • Taste
Pleasant drinking strength for me, does not need to be diluted. Here the Oloroso takes command and plays his entire class. The tree aromas (resin, pine cones) fall something for even more prominent raisins.
    • Finish
The barrel and the beautiful age press the stamp. Long and nutty, mature oak. The Oloroso stays in the background.

Wow, that's strange, where did he get the points from here? In the mouth he makes at least some good and some fruits, but otherwise he is rather difficult and own.
    • Nose
Quite strange note, really chemical caramel, as at Carnival the cheapest of cheap things is thrown around, in the sweetness of Toffee an unsuitable acidity, raisin, alcohol, later wet hay, mushy kiwi and rotten wood and wet cellar, God, Littlemill is really nothing for me
    • Taste
Apricot jellies, honey, toffee unfortunately continue directly in the Chinese factory hall, pear, plum, wet hay, sweet malt, heather meadow, a hint of sulfur eigtl. Not so pure, sour cherry further back and book pages
    • Finish
Old, really rancid butter, once you have that in mind, the thought does not go away, oiled leather and hay, medium length

  17. FritzeKrautman scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

Absolutely horny stuff. I have never been disappointed by Littlemill and today this series continues.
    • Nose
Exotic fruit, vanilla, coffee, mint, spices such as clove and nutmeg, alcohol slightly pungent, slight hint of sulfur.
    • Taste
Sweet, clove, pear, berry fruits. Then strong alcohol, emerging medical bitterness, which neatly stimulates the flow of saliva. Woody.
    • Finish
Long, spicy-nutty finish again with the berries and coffee.

    • Nose
Bramble, grapefruit, toffee, raspberry, cappuccino, raisin and a whiff of weizen beer. With water some banana.
    • Taste
Bramble, grapefruit, blood orange, cranberry and toffee. With water the typical Littlemill profile eventually beats the sherry influence. Then also some peach and cereals come up.
    • Finish
Caramel, bramble, grapefruit, cranberry, raisin and grain.
