    Note from a blind tasting.

    Nice old sherry bottling.

Dense and quite intense. Old sherry, nice oak flavor, well integrated alcohol. For a short time I have Christmas flavors, with a little gingerbread, raisins and nuts.

Pretty sweet, but not creamy. bright fruits (apple, peach). Obviously oak and pepper on the tongue over time.
    • Finish

Quite long, with the sweet and fruity notes fading quickly. Take over the pepper and tart oak seasoning.

    [Blindtasting Notes]

Somewhat * too * turned out for me.

Tip: A UA Jura, around 16 years old, from the refill sherry barrel.

Oha. Now it’s getting weird again, for me almost on the missing grade. Cheesy-milky-sour, à la Jura, Edradour, Fettercairn and the like. Naturally cloudy apple juice (or maybe even cider), pear peel, some vinegar. Behind it something "vegetable" and in the distance something floral. The sherry used seems to me to have been of a very high quality and smooths some of the more remote aspects of the fire again, with leather, liquorice, dark grape must and aged balsamic vinegar. On the other hand, the wood looks a bit "over" in places. Phew, I'm having a hard time here in terms of points.

A lot of old wood right at the start. Here the barrel definitely has the say, which is better that way, given the cheesiness mentioned above. I also find this a bit watery and at the same time slightly sharp, like the predecessor. But maybe this is also due to my form on the day. This very peculiar distillery character also shines through again and again. Otherwise well drinkable with refill sherry fruits and spicy wood, although the wood tends to be a bit too old for me.

      Old wood, mild red fruitiness.
