I bought this because I had another 2002 Dailuaine by Douglas McGibbon, which is brilliant, and I thought this could well be just as good. But hey, you've got to 'risk it for the biscuit', right?!
fruity and pungent, honey melon and licorice, salmiac even, some gunpowder, a vinegary note, pineapple, pears, a yellow floweriness (dandelions), a hint of vanilla lingering in the background, some plain dry oak, clover honey after a while, there's an omnipresent alcoholic sting throughout as you would find in schnaps.
heat develops, overripe pineapple, honey melon, overripe pears, a little fizzy, cheap champagne, a big body, spirity, the alcohol is not well integrated, tastes kind of young.
winey and a little vinegary with some alcoholic burn, pineapple, overripe honey melon, a hint of vanilla, licorice, a little saltpeter, a glass of cheap champagne left over from last nights party, shortish.
