    Enthusiasm: Nose and finish 5/5 Palate: 4/5 Whisky n ° 1746
    • Nose
Big sherry, cooked fruits caught by the exotic fruits. Chocolate. Grape juice. Sweet and generous and fragrant. Toasted notes. Cinnamon. Wow.
    • Taste
On the palate, a touch of austerity and restraint, but still these exotic fruits, pear, spice chocolate.
    • Finish
Final exotic wish. A hint of vegetal notes evoking Littlemill. Gourmet and long!

  2. Bishlouk scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

The best Irish I've ever tasted so far. A treat from start to finish. It's fine, sweet, melted, consistent, fresh while being greedy, easy to access and dangerously drinkable. A total success.
    • Nose
At first, it sends heavy. Ripe white grapes, herbaceous and floral freshness, Christmas spices, dried grapes and apricot, a hint of tobacco, frangipane, dark chocolate with orange, some hazelnuts ... All that? Yes, and even more. And all these scents form a whole that holds the road. It augurs a lot of good things for the future ...
    • Taste
... and this suite does not disappoint. Ground coffee, dried tree leaves, chocolate, orangette, raisins in shambles, apricots. A few grassy wavelets pass from time to time. Peppery hazelnut and candied currant.
    • Finish
Average. Christmas spices are resurfacing. Slight woody drought. A very slight grassy smoke rises in the nostrils (Ho? A trace of peat?).

Wonderful sherried Irish whisky. From nose to finish, a great experience of flavours. These Irish whiskies keep surprising and booming and the Nectar keeps bottling beauties...
For me personally, the best Irish I've had so far, although the one from the Whisky Fair isn't that far away, but totally different

Leather dried exotic fruits, Christmas spices, apricot, marzipan, really nice finish, delicious!

Quick notes from a blind tasting.
Just the best Irish I tasted so far.
Usually sherried Irish are a tad too oaky for me but this one had a perfect balance between the sherry and the usual irish exoticness with just enough oak to support everything.
    • Nose
A great mix of red and exotic fruits (juice and jams), leather, dried fruits, honey, a veil of smoke.
    • Taste
Red and exotic fruits again, dried fruits, citrus, leather, pepper and light oak. Perfectly balanced.
    • Finish
      Long, spicy and lightly smoky.

    Whiskybase the Gathering 2017
    • Nose
Extremely fruity - peach, fresh mango, melon and papaya. Tobacco leafs, cinnamon and marzipan.
    • Taste
Forest fruits - raspberries, mango tea, crème brûlée
and later more spices - cloves.
    • Finish
      Chocolate, cherries and syrup.

On the nose, herbaceous freshness followed by a bit of cold tobacco (drums or amsterdamer), the sherry comes out at once with the feeling of old, dry and moldy grapes, which gives even more length in the nose; creamy and chocolatey.
    • Nose
fresh and sherry that complement each other !! still a little mold, but some herbs too
      spices on gingerbread.
    • Taste
a multitude of flavors, velvety under the tongue, well macerated fruits, well-moistened wood, spices strong enough to raise this sensation even further.
back from a minty and kernel side.

Excellent, complex and very fresh. Not tiring at all, it is drunk like whey. [05/2015]
    • Nose
The slap. Huge freshness despite the color. It is extremely complex and rich. Small crushed berries (blackcurrant, blackberries), blackcurrant bud, orange marmalade and raisins. A grassy and fresh character that brings lightness and a surplus of class to this nose. Then come chocolate and raspberry ganache and always exotic fruits in the background and become more and more present. We do not get tired so much it's fresh, delicate and ultra complex. We almost do not want to drink it.
    • Taste
And we would be wrong ... The attack is immediately more spicy, more woody and very rich. There are a lot of similarities with the nose: small berries, exotic fruits, oranges and dried fruits (grapes and figs). Leather, tobacco, very light smoke and hot spices ...
    • Finish
Very long, peppery, minty and all in freshness. The spices are still there and there is a very slight dryness / bitterness that gives a little pep.
