A great Whisky! This whisky was distilled before the distillery closed and tastes a little more intense and full-bodied to me compared to the newer Parliaments bottled in 2016-2018!
    • Nose

sweet sherry, dark fruits like blackberries and plums, spicy malt notes
    • Taste

A whisky dream that unfortunately comes to an end. I bought this wonderful bottle in 2016 for a single price of €99.95 – and since Allardice and Revival were there, all three including the discount were available for €199. At the time, I didn't see it as a big bargain, but as a decent price for a whisky that I don't afford every day. That wasn't long ago and we should always remember that when the colleagues in the whisky tube try to fool us into believing that any Glendingsbums that have come across are fairly priced because they were in a greasy sherry cask and now cost €130. At the same retailer, the same package with current bottlings and the same discount would cost around €365 today. This is a rip off and spoils the fun of whisky. Unfortunately, the bottle will soon be empty and this whisky dream will come to an end. There will probably no longer be a new bottle of Parliament.

    • Nose
Beauty and elegance, these are attributes that I would attribute to this whisky in the nosing. There's strong sherry. However, it does not come to the nose with a sweet obtrusiveness, because the barrels were used wisely and Oloroso and PX ensure a fine harmony. This is a whisky for the holidays that is already confident and elegant on the nose. The whole thing is underlaid with sour fruit aromas, dried apricots with cinnamon and roasted almonds. Black and red currants are included - but not as a sour juice, but as a sweet jelly.
    • Taste
In the beginning, the whisky with 48% vol. A lot of power without burning, then the aroma spectrum unfolds with ripe sherry, wine gum and spicy aromas with aniseed, cinnamon bark and herbs. The flavors spread well in the mouth and are interwoven, and there is an interplay of spice and sweetness that makes this whisky tasty without becoming superficial. The taste of the Parliament also emphasizes that it is a whisky for the holidays, when finer aromas are desired. Christmas flavors with honey gingerbread and speculoos are also present.
    • Finish
Even if the sip has long since disappeared through the gullet, there is still a pleasant hint of sherry in the mouth, which sticks to the palate with good wood and fine spice.

Revival, Allardice and Parliament were the triumvirate of outstanding whiskys - and you could afford them, open them and enjoy them. The Parliament is the holiday whisky that is finer, more elegant and more profound than the other two. The Alladice is spicier and nuttier, but lacks the elegance of the Parliament. This is just a great whisky and unfortunately you have to shed a tear for it. With Billy Walker Glendronach had a short, magnificent bloom. Brown Forman will be successful and will certainly reposition the distillery in a highly profitable manner. But the charm and magic are gone. It's another overpriced brand of leveled whiskys. Three or four more drams – then the bottle will be empty and the dream will be over for the time being. What a pity.
