  1. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

My 4th and so far the weakest Alrik, Taste delicious, but not particularly, the vegetable-bitter notes, especially the nose, I can get even at a cheap Islay, and of the great barrels and the beech smoke, I do not notice much, Glen Els did a lot better that. So I do not need to talk about the price.
    • Nose
clear smoke, not as warm and sweet as in previous Alriks / Woodsmoked, but tart, bitter, ash, resin, pine needles, also the familiar from various Islays vegetable-grassy-bitter notes, lime, unripe apples and pears, almost no sweetness ( hint of bittersweet chocolate), a touch of white pepper
    • Taste
here the smoke is more typical Alrik, sweet and better integrated, chocolate, cocoa, with honey marinated roast, full-bodied and creamy, with some grass, lime and pepper
    • Finish
medium, some milk chocolate, grass (bitter) and pepper

    • Nose
Very complex. Fruity with pears, grapes and peach. Floral notes. Pine needles. Milk chocolate. The smoke is in the background.
    • Taste
Full mouthfeel. Dried apple slices. Oily. Flowery. Dark chocolate. Some oak. The smoke is little present.
    • Finish
Long. Pears. Peach. Geraniums (?). Drying. Some pepper. Dark chocolate. Oak.

  3. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

This Alrik is also successful. Overall, a bit more reserved in terms of sweetness and smoke.
    • Nose
The smoke is clearly perceptible, goes in the direction of campfire, in addition fir-resin and pepper, fruity towards pear and peach and also something sour like grapefruit, slightly grassy, behind everything also toasted aromas and chocolate. Overall, rather dry than sweet
    • Taste
Much sweeter than in the nose, again with pear and peach, nut and chocolate, a hint of sulfur (I'm sensitive), spicy oak and again the resinous, the sour notes from the nose are no longer to find, the smoke is still there, but more restrained than the Alriks tasted so far, overall rather mild in the mouth and very oily
    • Finish
becoming drier with pear peels, the smoke level increases, medium long

I e mp think the Ostara as the worst of the Alrikserie - artificial false notes - something tinny - no Har mony

    Finally tasted it :)
Even if this one is really nice and is an exceptional Single Malt which has great strengths, I like the "other" Alrik expressions a little more
