Whisky Reviews for Yoichi 12-year-old
9 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.08 points
- Appearance: Amber-orange.
Nose: Campfire smoke, honey, light wax, raisin, cinnamon, malt biscuit.
Palate: Smoky, salty, barley sugar.
Finish: Sweet and malty, smooth, honey and biscuits.
With Water: Comes together wonderfully.
Overall: Very smooth and well balanced. Not super unique or impressive but delicious. I was actually a bit more impressed by the 10 y.o. at the distillery. Could be that this has been opened too long.
- Very, very nice, well balanced standard, gets its own charm by the subtle smoky note.
Sweet toffee, dark honey, sweet, subtle smoked, apricot, peach, thyme, lavender, oak in honey
Dark honey, pickled pear, marzipan, apricot and peach, the light smoked smoke is also there, almonds, biscuits, fine wood smoke, lavender
Dry, pear, almonds, fine oak only in the background, medium long
- At its best with a few drops of water, to soften the edges
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
nose is crisp and fresh. Gentle, weaving smoke whirls above apple peels
and crisp pears. The palate is of medium-body and very crisp. There are
notes of peels and cut orchard fruits, a little floral note and a
subdued peat smoke. The finish is of good length with a little spicy
sweetness and smoke.
