(Rating intervall 85-88).
Heavy peat smoke, mixed spices and maple syrup makes the first impression. It is followed by spear mint, lemon and almonds (with the almonds really coming through in the empty glass). Hints of toffee when after addition of water.
Steady arrival with sweet licorice and syrup. The peat smoke grows in the development, with tar (almost Ardbeg like), pepper, lemon juice and wood spice. Smoked sweet licorice, fire wood, and mineral ashes.
The finish is all about peat smoke, citrus, bitter citrus, hint of pepper, smoked paprika and chipotle. A caramelized sweetness are very well in balance during the entire finish, and that is a long one.
