For some reason my tasting note on this got listed as "private" after an up-date and everything I wrote is gone.
It was a sample courtesy of karloff, my first Auchroisk, and I enjoyed it enough to reward it 86p.

N: A sweet one with candy & icing sugar to the fore.
T: Begins as expected with chewy youth but hey, not that much youth - 14 years in a decent cask can be ample.
F: Clean/cloudy spirit with some tannins & some liquorice. Not dry exactly, but puckering.
    C: A natural style malt, decently aged.Scores a B-

Another distillery ticked off the list, this is my first try and hopefully it won't be the last.

A pleasant dram indeed, nothing out of the ordinary but a solid enjoyable sipping whisky.
    • Nose
Banana and custard, soft white bread, orange peel, fresh cream, wood shavings, white pepper, lots of barley and All Bran breakfast cereal.
    • Taste
Light and fruity, a real summer whisky, it almost has a white wine taste to it, and a good one at that. Mr Kippings apple pie, green grapes and shortbread biscuit.
    • Finish
It's a medium finish that is quite dry and astringent but not in a bad way , there is some tiger bread on the death.

My first Auchroisk, and it won't stop me from exploring more from this distillery.

A nice dram for an evening of quiet reflections.

Thanks to karloff for the sample.

Nosing the empty glass remind me of breakfast cereal with dried berries with the cardboard box in the background as well.
    • Nose
Nice, rather sweet floral nose. Rosewater, honey and a hint of vanilla. Some mildly citric yellow fruit and an underlying cereal note.

I find it gentle and well ballanced.
    • Taste
Starting on slightly bitter forest berries, then quite nutty, a mix of hazel and macademia. Not as sweet as the nose implies, but some of the rosewater floral note is also present here.

I think the ABV is just right on this one, gently warming
    • Finish
About medium length, a brief moment of light spice when swallowed. Honey sweetness last longest.

A lovely and fruity bottling by Berry Brothers & Rudd. It's gentle and polished, with different kinds of yellow fruits, vanilla and breakfast cereals. Very clean and soft.
