Whisky Reviews for Balvenie 12-year-old
8 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 82.96 points
- Seems this has some random batch variations going on. Had a US duty free bottle (bought/from 2007 I think) I really liked the mellow wood spices & marshmellow flavours of, then a local one from a recent batch, and that was fairly generic & boring.
Score here is for the 2007 US 1000ml version...
- This is one of the scotches you bring to a tasting party for the 12 year
class. Its nice and gives you a sense of the barrel types and flavors
that go with them.
- Excelent whisky for cold israeli whinter evenings :-)
- First- and second-fill bourbon casks, then six to twelve months in sweet oloroso casks.
Sherry and orange skins.
Beautifully combined mellow flavours: nutty, sweet, sherry, very orangey fruitiness, heather, cinnamon spiciness.
Long, tingling. Very warming.
- Got two of this one
