This distillery is the only one to be named after an actual
person - an MP - and its make is much more prominent under the
stewardship of Inverhouse. This example is a mid yellowy gold, and is
from an Americain barrel. It is a little hot on the nose to begin with,
but still has sweetness and a distinctly seaweedy saltiness - wet
bladderwrack. The taste neat is very palatable: sweet rounded and
slightly seasidey. Diluted, the shoreline theme continues - rockpools -
but floral notes also develop with time, alongside earthy, grassy
notes. The reduced taste remains briney while retaining delicacy
through the dry finish. Exactly what we would hope for from a coastal
    distillery.
