A respectable nose. A discernable and appreciated body. The finish is above average, but not as distinct with a bit more citrus pepper from a beverage that tended to saturate the wood. I can spend more time with this one. Opinion and flavors subject to expand.

Pleasant enough. Nothing jumps out at ya. Herbs with soft fruit overtones.

I think Dailuaine's are quite distinctive. A combination of herbs and yellow fruits. This particular one is quite peppery, likely from the oak. In fact, on second sip, the oak is quite loud.
    • Finish
      85 85
A bit bitter, crushed aspirin, lime extract.

N: A fusty & [bourbon] fruity putty/porridge dunnage concoction, one tha immediate evokes ‘dad noises’.
T: The joy continues with gentle movements. Really needs water from the off for the most ‘aah’s’.
F: Dry fruit remnants and gentle wood-spice.
    C: A spot-on session dram to share with close malt friends.Scores a B[+]

    Orange tasting 3.0 18-08-2016 Roelof & JJ
    • Nose
Malty, waxy, woody and honey. Floral and tropical fruits like Littlemill. IMHO the style of a not so good (worn out) cask what makes this profile.
    • Taste
Malty, pine resin, honey, floral and nougat - nuts. Citrus, foam banana candy, green apples and pine apple.
    • Finish
      Fruity, woody and vanilla.

    SMWS Tasting Notes

    Colour: Ginger gold

    Flavour: Spicy & sweet

On the nose, woody perfumes (furniture polish, pine) mingled with aromatic fruits (pineapple, mango, sangria, mojito) against a sweet background of brown sugar, toffee, honey and marzipan. The palate was full-flavoured and delicious – mainly sweet (crème brûlée, puff candy, caramel, flapjacks) but with black pepper and sandalwood interest. The reduced nose continued this magical combo of sweetness and wood –chocolate, toffees and cakes on a polished wooden board; combined with aromatherapy oils this seemed to present a gesture of sharing and caring love. The palate had mixed dried fruit and moist cinnamon and ginger cake – sweet, spicy, fragrant and ‘fabby-dabby-doo’.

Drinking Tip: When you have plenty of time to appreciate it – ideal for sharing with someone you care for and love
