- A firm bourbon beast at high strength. From the old Heaven Hill Distillery which burnt to the ground in November 1996. Albeit its hugh ABV strength its well balanced and drinkable without a drop of water.
Hihaaa, bourbon at its best with lots of juicy oak, cherries, molasses and vanilla. Later on more on dried fruits, raisins and prunes. I also got strawberries. It's all very concentrated and intense with hints of cigar boxes and old leather later on.
Rich, creamy and buttery with lots of maple syrup and tannins. Toffee and caramel. Gingerbread as well. Roasted chestnuts, followed by espresso and dark chocolate. Hints of carraway and tabasco. Also anise and menthol. Some rye bitterness gradually emerging.
Long and warming with spices of nutmeg and cinnamon. Slightly drying. Some char. Pine at the end.
