Talisker 2008-2015, 6 years, 46% alc.
Bottler: Hepburns Choice (Langside Distillers)
Expansion: Refill Hogshead
Region: Isle of Skye, Scotland ... Nose: Young and fresh, phenolic peat smoke. Iodine, hospital corridor and bandages, some disinfectant. Surprisingly medical for a Talisker. It is followed by a light fruit note, a little peach and apricot, the smoke fades into the background, the aromas become malty and grassy. Palate: peat and tar, spices and iodine, pepper and a little malt, as well as cereals and a light nut. Overall, not very strict, the alcohol despite the youth only slightly felt. Finish: Medium-long and very creamy, almost silky. Disappears quickly, only the malt lingers a little longer. An approach of chilli, but really minimal. Conclusion: very pleasing and really nice, for the age a really pleasant Talisker, who surprised me. 85/100 points (tasted 2015)
