Whisky Reviews for Banff 1975 JW

  1. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

In any case, the aroma is very old-fashioned. The barrel can except a nice oak note, which is not upset in "wall unit", little add and the spirit is too soft. Interesting is the distinct smoky note, I had not expected from Banff now.
    • Nose
indeed very much old wood, very spicy, a light, vanilla sweetness from the Bourbon barrel. A nose that promises a beautifully matured whisky.
    • Taste
slightly spicy, warm wood notes, light peat smoke.
    • Finish
light peat that dominates wood, bitter sweet.

  2. ralfh scored this whisky 85 points Member Senior

A complex, beautiful malt. For 33 years, little wood freight. 85 points
    • Nose
Cooling alcohol Nut, wood, meadow, wet park, cherry blossom
    • Taste
Vanilla, mild fruit candy with chilli, delicate bitter notes, mild sweetness
    • Finish
Pepper and chocolate in the interplay, slowly fading away, pleasantly warming
