A good summer deck sipping whiskey. Not going to blow you away, but the sweetness and vanilla flavours make it enjoyable. Still plenty of the pot still character in this blend. A worthwhile upgrade over the standard Jameson’s, as this one has softened Jameson’s sharper elements. I’m a stout/porter drinker and I could only pick up a slight stout influence.

Won’t be a repeat buy for me, as where I’m at Powers Gold can be had for the same price and that one offers quite a bit more on the delivery.

Sweet, coconut, Irish, slightly sparkling alcohol, a slight tart hops note can be guessed. It's perfectly alright.

there's some trend going on to mature whiskey(ey) in ex beer casks. I say it's good for experiments and streatching whiskey flavour range.

If You look for Guinness in that particular bottle You will be disspointed. However I find some similaries in it. That roasted coffee grains and dark chocolate appears somwhere there, maybe more in the background. Also I coulnd't find this rooty creamy stuff that apears in stouts.

I had enojeyd it anyhow :)

    Colour: E150a

    Body: Light

Nose: An earthy dark beer, marmalade, jam, lime, toast, butter. With time- Nail polish, more floral Irish notes- Grass, sweet oak, more Stout and steak. An awful combination.

Taste: Very creamy arrival, then nothing for a second, then developing dark beer, toast, marmalade, some oak, some salt and grass. Weird flavours, thin again.

Finish: Medium length. Bitter cheap coffee and tannins, unfortunate. Shudders

Partially matured in Ex-Stout casks. I don't like beer, esp. Stout. Probably explains why I really don’t like this. I’m sure there are worse whiskies out there, but for the moment this is my lowest score I’ve given a whiskey.

I agree with the sentiment of the previous comment - not a bad NAS blended whiskey. Wouldn't say that this is a significant improvement over the standard version, but it is different. Maybe a notch sweeter?
