- Nose: Some glue, some wood and caramel. Not a very interesting nose. With water the nose becomes heavier, but not much changes.
Taste: Sweet, somewhat spicy, than those banana sweets again, caramel and some wood shavings. The taste has improved a lot with water. It is a bit bitter and a lot of wood influences.
Finish: Medium length. Pretty tasty, full and creamy. But it pulls away bitterly. With water the finish is also less bitter, but it remains a bit in it.
Comments: 84 points. I honestly did not think this was very good. In my opinion, this really has been on the barrel for too long and is therefore 'hidden'.
- Nose: Immediately after pouring it is noticeable that this grain does not have the typical glue smell. Vanilla, sweet, hint of wood, rum raisins, fresh apple. Really very tasty!
Taste: At first quite flat, peppery. Nice and greasy, sweet. Vanilla. Again that wood.
Finish: Turning creamy into dry and bitter.
The nose was very promising, unfortunately the taste and certainly the finish is a little behind. I thought this was a very nice dram, but the finish was just too bitter.
- The nose is fantastic, which is something in prospect, but the taste needs its time. But if he gets that time you will be rewarded by a beautiful dram with a spicy character.
Immediately after serving: glue, wood, vanilla, caramel and nuts. Sweet. Delicious! After an hour: The glue is going to lie down. Still vanilla, caramel and sweets. Less wood and nuts. Still a very nice nose.
At first a little flat, certainly less than the nose promises. Sharply, probably due to a high ABV (not paying attention to what he's on, high in the 50?). If you keep the sip in your mouth, the wood and the nuts that we lost in the nose will come back. Something bitter. A spicy pepper. Now this dram seems to have a pretty character. Notige, wood, beautiful bitter, earthy tones.
Round and creamy. Beautiful, slightly bitter, medium to long finish
- Nice light sweet dram with a lot of spice. Yummy!
The nose is fresh and sweet with vanilla, ginger, marmalade and pepper.
The taste is spicier and sharper than the nose. Flink some pepper and a lot of wood, slightly bitter but certainly not unpleasant. The aftertaste is drying and again slightly bitter.
Compared with the North Briton, it is much lighter. Nice light sweet dram with a lot of spice. Yummy! 87 points.
