German Supermarket version, the same as this one, which is stated to be for the italian market?

  7. HunterRomario scored this whisky 72 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Sweet, sweetish, with wood and vanilla, with citrus. Overall thin. Nothing of a world-class, compared to concurrently tested competitors, lags far behind. (75 b)
    • Taste
A thin body, more waterproof than other samples. Nuts, just a drop of honey. Nothing unpleasant, the problem is that it tastes rather empty than bad. (69 b)

  8. GeekyEleanor scored this whisky 50 points Newbie

Doesn't smell like much, it's very closed off when poured and if left sitting in a glass for a few minutes it doesn't open much. Very sweet, almost ghastly so (must be the caramel).

Decent for mixing, though don't expect it to add much taste to your cocktail, except for the alcohol.

Neat this smells and tastes mostly like perfume. Very sharp. Other than alcohol and a bit of sweetness, you cannot taste or smell much.Only way I found this drinkable was mixed with coke.

    Hm, Keeper 47, Margot 52.

Notes from an online live tasting compared to Old Keeper: http://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/62586/old-keeper-blended-scotch-whisky
    • Nose
The nose of the Queen I find worse. No vanilla, something musty. I'm not sure about that. Ah, here comes something else. Definitely less alcohol, slightly fermented fruit. Has a lot more to offer than the Old Keeper when you're over the initial stink ..
    • Taste
It tastes similar to me, but somehow better, not quite as artificial.
    • Finish
Honey water instead of sugar water in the finish, actually some anise, and away ...
